Acupuncture

Based in ancient tradition and supported by modern research, acupuncture works to restore balance in the body and addresses the root of how you feel.

Acupuncture is a therapeutic system based in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) that aims to restore balance and regulates physiology in the body.  It involves gentle insertion of thin, sterile needles into specific points on the body to stimulate its natural healing process.  These points correspond to pathways, or meridians, where energy (known as "Qi") flows.

Modern research reveals that acupuncture has profound effects on the nervous system. When acupuncture needles are placed, they activate sensory nerves in the skin and muscles, sending signals to the brain and spinal cord.  This triggers the release of endorphins and other neurochemicals, which help to alleviate pain, reduce inflammation, and promote relaxation.

Additionally, acupuncture influences the autonomic nervous system by balancing the sympathetic (fight-or-flight) and parasympathetic (rest-and-digest) responses. This helps calm the body, reduce stress and improve overall well-being.

Backed by centuries of tradition and modern research, acupuncture offers a complete, well-rounded approach to addressing the root causes of health concerns, empowering individuals to achieve lasting vitality and balance.

Our Process

The Intake

Your first visit starts with a thorough consultation covering your health history, lifestyle, and current concerns. This helps us find the root of the issue, your pattern, and informs our treatments.

The Treatment

You'll rest comfortably while thin, sterile needles are placed at specific points. Most people find it relaxing, and many fall asleep during the session. Adjunctive therapies may be included if indicated.

The Plan

Acupuncture works best over a series of visits. We'll build a treatment plan together, including how often to come in and roughly how long it may take.

The Follow-Up

Each session builds on the last. We track how you're responding and adjust your plan as you go.
